You would have to be crazy to believe such a thing! It's obvious that this is the only life we have and now is the only opportunity we have to get whatever we want out of life?
Nevertheless, I believe. And that gives me an entirely different perspective on life. I'm not afraid of anything. I'm not missing out on anything. There's nothing that anyone can do to me or take from me.
I know that my Redeemer lives and that I will see Him in the flesh and because He lives, we will live also.
And nothing can ever stop that from happening.
AMEN
One of the things that drew me to Orthodoxy was the hope after death. I had a family member die who everyone insisted was going to heaven, but I knew him to be intensely materialistic and indifferent to spiritual things. Being able to pray for this man’s soul after death, which the Protestants tell me is pointless at best and heretical at worst, convinced me.
Life after death 🌾 is not self evident, and yet, "Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground..."
The Cross is indeed foolishness, such love is madness, 🦋⛲❤️🩹✨ but the Tomb is still M/T.
