WHOLENESS

Each of us craves a kind of Wholeness that is rarely offered or achieved in our present culture.

We sense that something is missing, that something essential has been lost and we try to compensate for that lack in all sorts of ways that satisfy us only temporarily at best.

Jesus, as is recorded in John chapter 17, prays for His disciples and then, adds this:

“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:20-23)

We are created for Oneness with God and in that Oneness, to become like God.

Earlier in John, He lays out the means for this to take place:

“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” (John 14:23)

We were created to have the entire Holy Trinity come and make it's abode in us, for us to be One with God and to become like God and nothing less will ever truly satisfy us.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do…” (John 14:12)

God has Great Good Things in mind for us!

Let each one of us aquire the Wholeness that we crave!
